I strongly believe that one should only translate into their native language. I grew up in the Netherlands and first moved to the UK 20 years ago so I have a masterful grasp of both languages and can help you with any translation needs.
After completing my MA in Translation Theory and Practice at University College London in 2011, I became a part time Lecturer MA in Applied Translations at London Metropolitan University. Here I taught practical and theoretical aspects of translation and Dutch culture, analysed higher specialised texts and mentored and coached students towards the DipTrans exam. I am also a tutor at Translator Training.
I have over a decade of professional translation experience, including most recently the translation of Aletta Stevens’ novel Looking for Uncle Joop: A Long-Lost Story from Nazi-Occupied Holland from English to Dutch. I specialize in literary translations and have a keen knowledge of the culture in England and Holland.
I am open to new projects, contact me if you think I’d be a good fit.
